FESPA 2023 Munich Sustainability Spotlight Highlights

The topics are broad and include ideas to reduce costs by optimising energy and resources. Our guest contributors will present short insights into what’s going to affect printers and how to avoid greenwashing, the need for clarity on what brand’s expectations are in light of and increased focus on decarbonisation and supply chain transparency.

On Sustainability Spotlight, FESPA have organised both a textile and graphics display area, promoting suppliers submissions from the sustainable world!

TEXTILE DISPLAY

FESPA have curated a textile material display which showcases 40+ products across four categories:

  • Leather and leather alternatives
  • Synthetic fabrics
  • Cellulosic fabrics
  • Natural fabrics 

 

GRAPHIC DISPLAY

Presenting a showcase of innovative materials for graphic applications highlighting their sustainability characteristics. Each submission is accompanied by a completed questionnaire to validate the entry.

Sustainability Spotlight Plan

Each submission has been evaluated to provide visitors with clear, transparent and relevant sustainable materials, which are available across 3 clearly defined sectors which include; short-term graphics, interior decoration and fashion.

The information provided within the displays include; manufacturer location and information, associated quality standards, composition, weight, width, stock service, low/high MOQ, recycled content, recyclability, lower emissions, and if they have a water policy, energy policy, social policy and if yarns are fully traceable. Each material also offers a short summary covering their highlights.

You will also find a certifications key which covers: Global Recycling Standard, GOTS, Oeko-Tex, Bluesign, Crib 5, Fire Retardant Certification and Martindale results.
